Hanoi Flower Festival

To begin a new colourful year I decide to visit Hanoi Flower Festival. The festival is held along Hoan Kiem lake as the first celebration toward Hanoi 1000 years old and the 2010 National Tourism Year in Hanoi. From 30 December 2009 to 3 January 2010, it is the great time for not only Hanoi people but also the tourists to know more about Hanoi culture and enjoy many artworks made of flowers. There are many people eager to come so I have to wake up early to get there.
The festival is an achievment of 1000 artisans and workers. Hundred of flower species were used to create a wonderful space which used to be a crowed street in normal days. It's so amazing with me to stand in the middle of the road seeing the street has become a wonderful garden! Though it's not the first time Hanoi holds this event but it still makes me surprise. So interesting when many trees of countryside can grow in the center of the city and right in front of Hanoi Post office. Besides, many symbols of Hanoi are reproduced in smaller size such as Khue Van Cac, One Pillar Pagoda, Long Bien bridge, Hanoi’s old tramcar, etc.

Well, I feel very very strange and peaceful...Everyone comes here… taking photographs, laughing, seeing beautiful things together under a small drizzling rain and bitter wind_ a typical weather of Hanoi’s winter.
The green, the red, the yellow, the blue... all the fresh colours are here, in the heart of Vietnamand Hoan Kiem lake has become a huge flower basket!
Love this festival and all people who have made it real.
